Tagged!...at long last!

Yeah! I know! I haven't posted in a long time. I've been feeling really down in the dumps for about three weeks. No particular reason.

Anyway, the Old Man FINALLY "Tagged" me! So here goes:

Three JOYS:
1.) Music! Making it or listening to it.
2.) Walking on the Beach barefoot...even during the Winter months!
3.) Helping others!

Three FEARS:
1.) Wharf rats! (They get about as big as my cat!)
2.) Becoming Homeless! (Due to a Natural Disaster, or my house burning down, etc.)
3.) One day being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. (YIKES!)

Three GOALS:
1.) Lose more weight...as usual!
2.) Take up violin lessons, again!
3.) Write a book.

Three OBSESSIONS:
1.) Swimming laps!
2.) Reading books, books, and more books!
3.) Anything having to do with the ocean!

Three LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT ME:
1.) I was born without fingernails or toenails, because I was born about 5 weeks early.
2.) During the Summer of 1980, I worked for a short while as a waitress in North Carolina. (I was 19 years old at the time.)
3.) I am allergic to dogs. BUMMER! (I found out almost 2 years ago.)

Hmmm....I don't know any bloggers that haven't been "tagged" already. However, I think I'll "tag" three people who read my blog (hopefully:D ), and who can send me their answers via email. So-o-o, I hereby "tag" my good friends: Phyllis, Michelle, and Marlene!

WHEW! Done!......Later, everybody!

Narnia: 2

Wow! Time sure seems to fly by! It seems like only yesterday that I last posted on my blog....I guess not!

Late this afternoon, Mark and I finally went and saw the second "Narnia" movie. We went with a good friend of ours, Michelle, who was able to get the movie tickets for us for absolutely free. Michelle and her husband are the Webelos' den leaders in our Cub Scout Pack, and Michelle works as a nurse in one of the Baptist Primary Care doctor's offices. One of the frills of working for the Baptist Health Care System is free movie tickets...as many as you want, all year long! Right now, Michelle's husband, Larry, and her youngest son, Shawn, are visiting relatives up in Minnesota. They've been up there since June 5th. Michelle was kinda getting lonely, so she asked us to go to the "Narnia" movie with her. After the movie, we all ate supper at Steak 'n Shake.

We all liked the second "Narnia" movie, but I think I liked the first one better. We're looking forward to the opening and showing of the newest Disney/Pixar film, "Wall E." It looks like it's going to be hilarious! We know better than to go to a movie on its opening weekend. We usually go see a movie after it has been showing for at least 2-3 weeks.

Hey! I have a question for the Old Man...Do you ever read the comments people leave on your blog? Just wondering. I've been waiting to get "tagged" by you for what seems like eons!

That's all for now, folks!

TIme to Change

Well it's official! We've dumped AT&T for our phone service and will shortly dump our internet service with them, as well! Not only did we get disgusted with their billing errors, but their technical service really stinks too! Right now our internet service is technically still with AT&T, but the server we're stuck with (for now) is Bellsouth. Hopefully, we'll be rid of Bellsouth and AT&T within a couple of weeks. We're looking into changing our internet service, and our phone service to Comcast. We're also considering getting Cable TV thru Comcast. We'll just wait and see about that, because we had our Cable TV taken out 14 years ago because we just didn't watch that much TV.

Hopefully, everyone got our email about our email addresses changing to ONE (new) email address.

Well, it's getting late so I've got to go!

Ho Hum & UMM

Nothing exciting has happened since I last posted. I've just been doing housework....Ho Hum!

For those of you who don't know, Mark has been the Cubmaster of our Cub Scout Pack (that meets at our church) for the past 6 years. He allowed each Den leader to decide whether they wanted to have their Den continue to meet every Monday night during the Summer. The Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Den Leaders decided to break for the Summer, but the Webelos Den Leaders decided to continue to meet. However, the Cub Scouts are still having a Pack Meeting once a month, plus they're having an outing once a month as well.

This month our Cub Pack went camping Friday night (June 13th) at Fort Clinch State Park, up in Fernandina Beach. Then on Saturday the Pack participated in a Fishing Clinic sponsored by the State Parks. The Fishing Clinic was open to any child under the age of 12. The Fishing Clinic was held at the old Nassau Sound Bridge. Each child was taught how to cast, how to tie a fishing knot, how to bait a hook, how to handle a fish if you're going to release it again ( so that you don't harm it), and were taught about other sea life (such as, crabs, coral, starfish, etc.). Each child that participated in the Fishing Clinic got a "good quality," new rod 'n reel. Needless to say, the Fishing Clinic is very popular each year that it is held. That's why our Pack decided to camp out at Ft. Clinch the night before...so they could be some of the first ones in line for the Fishing Clinic. One of our boys caught a good size Whiting fish. A good time was had by all.

In July our Cub Pack has decided to go to Adventure Landing on Beach Blvd. There's a water park there, plus they can play miniature golf and play arcade games.

Mark went to the United Methodist Men's meeting tonight. The UMM meets every 4th Monday of each month. Mark usually is helping out with the Cub Scouts when the UMM meet, but he made it to their meeting tonight. The UMM, as in years past, are sponsoring any Cub Scout that wants to go to Summer Camp. Most of the boys in our Cub Pack come from a low-income area, so not all of them can afford to pay their own way to Boy Scout Summer Camps. There are 6 Cub Scouts in our Pack this year that are going to Summer Camp thanks to the UMM!

Well, that's all until next time. As Lint Monkey, Bopnopper, and Dubby like to say, Toodles!

My First...and 2nd...Entry!

Sunday - June Sunday 22, 2008

Well, as everybody probably knows, I once had another Blog. I only posted one entry to it, so that entry was technically my "first" blog entry. However, this is my "first" entry to this...my new blog; but this is my "2nd" blog entry of all time. Is that clear as muck in a swamp or what? Anyway, don't expect to read about too much excitement here! My life can be quite mundane at times.

The reason I decided to entitle this blog, "My Memory......What Memory?" is because I'm pretty sure I must be getting Alzhiemer's! I think it must be catching here in the Retirement State. (Smile, Mom & Dad!)

By the way, Happy Summer Everybody! WooHoo! Yeah, right!... As always, during the Summer here, it's really hot and humid! Usually, unbearably so! Old fogies like me, who can't take the heat anymore, end up mostly hibernating in the airconditioned BORING indoors We seem to have finally settled into our Summer pattern of there being thunderstorms every afternoon. I sure wish Spring and Fall (temperatures) would last a bit longer here! Those two seasons seem to be gone in a blink of the eye. (GROAN!)

One of our church choir members invited the whole choir over to his house early last evening for a Low-Country Boil. For those of you who don't have a clue what that is, here's a short explanation: A Low-Country Boil is where all kinds of seafood, including shrimp and clams, are tossed into a great big cooking pot, along with spices, and boiled (obviously). It ends up being like a soup or stew. Yummy!...uh...Well, at least I think it's yummy! Since Uncle Mark practically hates all seafood, and there were a couple of other people there that didn't like seafood, there were grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for them to eat. It's always great fun to get together with good friends and eat delicious food! Don't y'all agree?

Well, now I have to contact all my friends and family members and let them know about this, my new blog! However, I would just like to ask everyone, as I did with my first blog, to please NOT post "a link" on your blogs to "my blog." This blog is mainly for your "special eyes" only! Thanks a bunch, and continue all that Happy Blogging!....That includes you too, Bryan, and/or Bryan's room mate (when Bryan hasn't posted a blog entry in eons...as if I'm not guilty of the same thing)!
